As your State Treasurer, my office is working tirelessly to implement smart, innovative solutions to bring relief and support for Wisconsin families at their kitchen tables. One way we do this is by making smart investments to strengthen our state. I serve on the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL), where I oversee the financial performance of four trust funds with assets that exceed $1.3 billion. The earnings of these funds support our public schools and universities.
Common School Fund Distributions
Every year, the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL) makes a distribution to fund books and technology in every public school library in Wisconsin. For many schools, this annual distribution is the sole source of funding for their school library.
Annual Distributions
As the BCPL member, I've seen the resilience displayed by Wisconsin’s teachers, staff, students, and parents, and I couldn't be prouder to help make these valuable resources available and give our schools the support they deserve. State Trust Fund Loan Program
Through the State Trust Fund Loan Program, we help cities, counties, and towns across Wisconsin fund critical projects ranging from small business loan programs to snowplows. In fact, we financed over $571 million in local projects in Wisconsin's communities over the last biennium.
The State Trust Fund Loan Program provides municipalities and school districts affordable financing for public purpose projects including economic development, local infrastructure, capital equipment and vehicles, building repairs and improvements, and refinancing existing liabilities to reduce future borrowing costs. The application process is simple and has no fees. To learn more about the State Trust Fund Loan Program, click here.
